- EGS India has recently successfully completed a highly
sensitive and challenging offshore UXO survey in Northern
Arabian Gulf for South Oil Company (SOC), Iraq.
- Cdr PK Tyagi, IN (Retd) explains – “our survey team undertook
this challenge with the special security provided by the
Clients, Marine And Underwater Security Consultants (MUSC),
UK. EGS India also designed and implemented a special training
programme for the SOC (Iraqi clients’) personnel. This training
was conducted by EGS Staff in EGS office in the UK and in
India. The equipment trials were carried out in the Persian
Gulf. Working closely with the Client’s offshore team, we
were able to search and locate UXO’s within the survey corridor
using a combination of SBES, MBES, SSS, SBP and transverse
gradiometers. The project involved two fully equipped vessels,
manned by EGS India professionals, and the entire survey
operations were carried out over a period of 8 months in
an extremely dangerous and hostile environment, with no
incident or accident which is a testimony of the HSE procedures
adopted by the company.”
