EGS establishes foothold in The Americas
Florida, USA.   In response to customer demand, the EGS Survey Group, independent, worldwide leaders in the field of marine survey, are pleased to announce their expansion into the Americas region with the establishment of EGS Americas, Inc.  EGS will base its Americas region headquarters in South Florida on the Atlantic coast, with a US West Coast presence in Seattle, Washington.  From these strategic locations EGS Americas will support projects in the Caribbean, Latin America, Atlantic and eastern Pacific.  It is anticipated that one of the company’s survey vessels will be based in the region to serve its customers in the submarine telecommunications, oil and gas and government markets.

EGS is also pleased to announce the appointment of Debra Peat as President of EGS Americas, Inc.   Debra brings 23 years of survey experience to the company, with a strong background in operations and management, most recently serving as President of Fugro Seafloor Surveys International in Seattle.  EGS is confident that the combination of Debra’s experience, knowledge of the Americas region and customer relationships will give EGS Americas, Inc. a strong start in establishing its high-quality services in the Americas region.

EGS Survey India relocates to new offices
Mumbai, India. Due to increasing workload and staff expansion, EGS Pvt Ltd is pleased to announce their purchase of   new larger premises at Navi Mumbai. Managing Director, Cdr. P K Tyagi, IN (Retd.), hosted a reception for key industry Clients and service partners alike in the newly opened offices in September 09, and reiterated EGS’ commitment to India and its offshore marine market place, and continuing to grow our local business as the leading independent marine survey company in India.

 


 

EGS Group invited to represent the survey industry at Centre for International Law Workshop
Singapore. At the recent Workshop on Submarine Cables and Law of the Sea held in Singapore in December which was convened by the National University of Singapore, Centre for International Law, and attended by senior government regulators, legislators and authors and leading international experts on the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea; as well as client groups in the submarine telecoms sector, EGS Group Business Development Director, Graham Evans presented a keynote paper on permitting risks for marine survey operations, based on EGS’ extensive submarine telecommunications cable route survey experience over the  past 15 years.

 


 

EGS goes independent in Oz
Perth, Australia. EGS Survey Pty Ltd confirms its establishment as a totally owned EGS Group subsidiary office after the amicable conclusion of a 5 years 50/50 partnership with AAMHatch Survey. General Manager and  Director, Lee Woolhouse explained that EGS Pty will maintain a close relationship with AAM Survey for future airborne survey opportunities, and was pleased also to confirm that EGS Survey will be relocating to a purpose built office warehouse in Belmont, Perth by end February 2010, capable of housing all EGS survey and geophysical staff and Australian owned survey equipment. This new move coincided with an exciting new vessel positioning contract sealed with Bluestone Offshore Pte Ltd.

Jakarta, Indonesia. Peter Bolsterli, Managing Director of PT EGS was pleased to announce the recent awards of 2 further pipeline and site survey projects for PERTAMINA and BP in Indonesia. “This demonstrates our growing reputation and technical capability as a local, Indonesian specialist service provider to our market, and with our own resources, able to carry out sophisticated marine surveys, pipeline assessments, 2D Hires geophysical geo-hazard surveys and complex, geo-chemical in-situ heat flow testing and piston core sampling in nearly 2000m water depth

 


 

EGS and C-Products Europe exhibit at OI London March 2010
London, UK. EGS International Ltd and C-Products Europe, UK, take up their regular combined biannual exhibition space in the top industry showpiece - Oceanology International at the Excel Centre, London Docklands from the 9th – 11th March. Oceanology International is the world’s leading exhibition in the marine science and ocean technology community and is the perfect venue to meet with leading industry professionals. The EGS Group will be using the opportunity to bring together its senior management team to showcase the groups continuing success across the global marine survey market. The UK office, EGS International (Stand L400) will be advertising their full range of marine survey services with particular focus this year on the Renewables market following the announcement of the Crown Estates Round 3 Offshore Windfarm awards in January and C-Products Europe (Stand M405) will be displaying the C-Boom and C-Phone, a combined 400 volt seismic system.

 


 

EGS expands her fleet yet again!
EGS Asia, HK. Following the successful acquisition, conversion and utilisation of our 2 bespoke deepwater ocean survey vessels, RV Ridley Thomas and EGS Explorer, EGS Group Director, Lau Siu Pong is pleased to confirm that EGS’ 3rd deep water survey vessel, RV EGS Surveyor, is expected to complete its final conversion and overhaul in PRC shipyard for commissioning for service by early summer 2010. Lau commented that this new addition to the EGS fleet would be a welcome addition and be capable of both deepwater cable route surveys and also conventional Oil & Gas geo-hazard and pipeline surveys in the Indian Ocean, South China Sea and Pacific, as our other vessels are continuously deployed in Africa and Americas.

 


 

STOP PRESS – EGS win GBI, TATA Gulf and ALBA-1 submarine cable survey work
Abu Dhabi, UAE. EGS Asia have snared another three significant submarine cable projects - Tyco Telecommunications recently awarded EGS the desktop study and route survey contract for the Gulf Bridge International submarine telecommunication cable system.  EGS will be using their survey vessel RV EGS Explorer for the deep water sections of the route in the Arabian Sea, and trunk route within the Arabian Gulf.  EGS’ newly acquired shallow draft survey vessel will be used to survey and act as the platform for geotechnical operations along the very shallow water sections of the route approaches to the landing points in Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iraq.  In addition to GBI, Tyco have also awarded EGS the deep water survey work for the TATA Gulf Submarine Cable System in the Arabian Sea.

Alcatel – Lucent have also awarded EGS the ALBA-1 submarine cable route survey contract in the Caribbean.  The ALBA-1 cable will link Jamaica, Cuba and Venezuela.  EGS’ RV Ridley Thomas will carry out the work having just completed the WACS cable route survey in West Africa.
